Dan Kartzman, is the new Senior Advisor on Market Development for NYSERDA. In this capacity he is responsible for a portfolio of project efforts to develop and implement interventions and strategies that overcome market barriers, animate the market, encourage private capital and investment, and accelerate the scale and penetration of on-site, behind-the-meter clean energy solutions in the commercial, industrial, multifamily, and single family residential sectors. Dan built a residential energy efficiency business on Long Island, Powersmith, growing it from a startup to 75 employees in five years. He also led an effort to establish the “Creating an Industry Working Group” which brought together contractors from across the State to forge an agenda to advance energy efficiency in residential homes. Prior to Powersmith, Dan worked in residential energy efficiency for a leading California-based firm. His background will help NYSERDA as we evolve our approach and expand our capabilities to deploy multiple concurrent high-impact initiatives that lower costs and accelerate demand for clean energy. Dan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from New York University.
